When the Light Goes Into Darkness

Chapter One
Avi's idea


One day a lighten girl named Avi of Spirits was in the Light for too long and she wanted to see what life would be like if she decided to live in the Darkness.  She went in search for her two best friends, Charnice of the Night and Angel of the Sun.
When Avi was walking down the rainbow sidewalk, she saw Charnice and Angel, talking at the corner of Terry Berry Street and Flowers Street.  Avi walked up behind them, very quietly.  She stood behind them and shouted, "Boo!"  Angel jumped, dropping her books onto the rainbow street.  Charnice also jumped and made a little dark looking ball in the palm of her hand.  Charnice turned around and held the dark ball high in the air, ready to hit the person that scared them.  Avi just stood there, smiling at Charnice, not showing a drop of fear.  Once Charnice saw Avi, she made the dark ball disappear, "Why do you always do that?"
"So I can scare the living day lights out of you two." laughed Avi.  "It's not funny, Avi.  You could have made me jump out into the street and get hit by a car or something." Said Angel angrily, picking up her books from out of the street, before a car comes and runs it over.
"Sorry guys." Said Avi.
"You wanted something, Avi?" asked Charnice helping Angel pick up her things.
"What is it?" asked Angel looking up at Avi.
Avi took a deep breath and told her friends her idea.  After Avi was done telling them, she looked away from her friends and looked at the cloud looking houses.  Angel's eyes widen in shock.  Charnice couldn't believe what Avi just said.  "Avi," said Angel, "You know your father won't let you go to the Darkness, not even let you step foot into that place." "I was planning on not telling him and that you guys would come with me." Avi said, looking back at her friends, wanted to see the looks on their faces.
Angel and Charnice looked at each other with confusion, yet scared also.  Avi sighed deeply and said, "When you're really to answer my question, you'll know where I'll be.  I'm leaving when the sun sets."  Avi turned around and started to walk back to her house to start getting what she needed for the trip.

Avi finished packing her thinks, which was only a tennis ball that helped her calm herself down.  She walked over to her window and saw the sky turn from bright sunny day to a dark cold night.  She sighed sadly, as she looked out into the sky.
They're not coming.  You thought.
As soon as she thought that, there was a knock on the door.  Avi sat on her bed, facing the door, "Come in."
The door opened and their stood Angel and Charnice, their arms crossed, looking at you with a grin on their faces.  Avi smiled as her friends walked into her room.  Angel sat in a chair by the door while Charnice sat on the window sill.  "So, when and where are we going to the Darkness?" Asked Angel.
"We're leaving in a minute." Said Avi.
"And where?"
Avi stayed silent, looking down at the floor.
"You don't know… do you?"
Avi shook her head.
"You want to go to the Darkness, yet you don't know how to get there."
"You have to go through the Gates of Live." Blurted Charnice, staring out the window.
Avi and Angel looked over at Charnice with questioning looks on their faces.
"My father told me." She said, answering their unspoken question.
They both nodded, understanding.  There was silence between the three friends.  Avi turned her attention back to the floor.  Angel leaned farther back in the chair, her hands on her stomach.  Charnice still looked out the window.  They were waiting for someone to speak first.  Charnice broke the silence.
"Are we going or not?" she asked.
"Yeah, let's go." Said Angel, standing up and opens the door.
"To the Darkness!" Avi shouted, jumping off the bed.
Charnice jumped off the window sill and walked out Avi's room.  Avi followed Charnice, carrying her tennis ball in hand.  Angel walked out, closing the door behind her.
The three girls walked out of Avi's house and down the rainbow side walk, heading for their new adventure, the Gates of Love.
