The Presidential Award for Eight Grade Goes to….
"Now for the Presidential awards…" said Mrs. Rogers. She went over to her little desk where they had the awards. She took one of the awards and read, "The Presidential award for eight grade goes to…"
"You're so gonna win, Avi." said Megan as she looked through the door to the stage, waiting for the old principle to call her friend's name.
"Whatever, I'm telling you, I'm not going to win it." said Avianna, dully. She was a B average student and there were two better students, from her grade, for this award.
"William Weaver." called Mrs. Rogers.
"Told you." Avianna said, clapping for her classmate.
"You should have won." said Stephanie, Megan's older sister.
"I agree." said Megan, clapping as well.
"If I should have won, then how come I'm in choir?" asked Avianna.
"Because you love us." Megan and Stephanie said.
Avianna rolled her eyes. They watched as William walks down the steps. As he gets to the last step, he trips over his own two feet and falls flat on his face.
The crowd burst out laughing. The students were rolling on the floor laughing. The choir was already dead from laughter. The teachers were trying so hard not to laugh, but Mrs. Suarez couldn't hold it anymore and she made Mrs. Corbin start laughing. Most of the parents were trying to hold back their laughter, but William's parents were already standing up and walking out of the church.
They all stopped laughing, while William's parents stopped walking, as Mrs. Rogers walked down to William, who was still on the floor. She walked to the side of him, took his award and walked back up the steps.
The parents were shocked, William's parents quickly walked out of the church and to their car, but the students were laughing even harder than last time.
"And they said he was smart." smirked Avianna.
End.
